Laser Holdings (UK) Limited was created in May 2000, in order to accommodate the expansion to new markets by the Laser Group of Companies. This Holding Company included the original founding company Laser Civil Engineering Limited
Laser Civil Engineering (LCE) was founded in September 1979 by Ian Ansell, Group Managing Director of Laser Holdings (UK) Limited. LCE is particularly active in the construction of access roads and other infrastructure for private developments across central England. Recently the business has increased its public highways work, in particular the upgrading of carriageways around new developments, and has also diversified into managing the remediation of contaminated land. LCE acts as both main contractor and sub-contractor with clients, which are a mix of private property developers, local and central government highways authorities, and large national contractors.
Laser Special Projects (LSP) was established in 1994 to present a new range of services. It initially offered the refurbishment of bridges and other specialist works involving the treatment of concrete surfaces. LSP grew rapidly as a business unit and now operates nationwide, carrying out waterproofing and multi-disciplinary refurbishment works including specialist railway applications, multi-storey car parks, and specialist bridgework elements of large public highway maintenance projects.
Laser Build Ltd (LB) was incorporated in May 2000, following requests from clients to apply Laser’s established ethos and reputation for high quality construction services to design-and-build. Laser Build now offer modern style construction contracting, for large private property developers and the public sector. Their principal administration office was set-up in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, and is strategically located to give the group a satellite base for expansion to the north and east of its traditional trading area.
Laser joined the Dutch construction group VolkerWessels (VW) in November 2005 to help further its ambitious growth plans. As a result we are now part of a dynamic international organisation, which has 130 operating companies in Holland, the United States, Canada, Germany and Belgium, engaged in building and civil engineering projects.
